Why is my card declined when I try to pay in a store?

If your purchase is declined when you try to pay with your Nordea Business Card, there can be several reasons.

1. The company doesn't have enough available credit

If the company has used all or most of its available credit, card purchases may be declined.

Only company administrators can see how much is Available to spend. As a cardholder, you can only view your card's Monthly spend limit and how much of your spending limit you've used.

Solution: Contact your company administrator to check how much is Available to spend.

2. You've reached your Monthly spend limit

Each card can have a Monthly spend limit that restricts how much can be spent during a calendar month.

If you've reached your Monthly spend limit, additional purchases will be declined, even if the company still has credit Available to spend.

Solution: Your company administrator can increase or remove your Monthly spend limit if needed.

You can view your Monthly spend limit and how much of your spending limit you've used in the Nordea app or on Nordea.com under My card.

Example

If your Monthly spend limit is SEK 5,000 and you've already spent SEK 4,000 this month, you have SEK 1,000 remaining. If you attempt to make a purchase of SEK 1,500, the transaction will be declined because it exceeds your Monthly spend limit.
